Melynk's joke of an interview with Boro makes me convinced Stone and likely Duchene are going.

They'll get little return and give a sh_t ton of money to the over valued Ceci, who should be traded

Great job with the assessments Trevor. I am in relative agreement with all the grades provided.
Nice to see Pyatt waived so that Nick Paul can remain with the big team. I was surprised at how well Nick Paul has played at the NHL level this year as I had essentially written him off.

Don't get discouraged. Teams always hang on too long before starting a full rebuild.

My head says that moving Duchene, Stone, Dzingle, Ceci and Anderson should all be on the table as possible options. Sens will be less competitive next year...but, they will still be fun to watch.

My heart would be pleased if they resigned Duchene and Stone. But, the best rebuilds are often based on a full crash.

To Edmonton

Mark Stone (8 years x 7.75m)
Cody Ceci (5 year x 4.25m)

To Ottawa

Jesse Puljujarvi
Kris Russell
Evan Bouchard
2019 2nd (1st if EDM makes conf. finals)

Would you do this deal TODAY if* you know Stone isn't resigning in Ottawa (Bouchard & Formenton have been teammates in London for 3 seasons now)

Ya I agree with the last line big time; but the danger of trading these guys now is seeing is staying the bottom and the pick being a top pick for the Avs -- will anger fans even more

That trade offer is terrible.Puljujarvi is near bust level and russell is cap dump.

Ceci>russell so its pretty much bouchard and a 2nd for mark stone? Even as a rental...stone would return much more than that.

Terrible offer

Why does van make that deal?

They get a worse goalie, and THE worst forward in the NHL........and to make up for it get a 6th rd pick

It’s not like Ott is getting star players in return, but Nilsson > McKenna and archibald >>>>>>>>> pyatt

This is an easy win for dorion

You are looking into this way too much.

Nilsson has lost 9 straight, and Thatcher Demko is ready for the show.
Nilsson going to Ottawa, Mckenna gets waived and goes to Utica, Demko gets the callup
Pyatt cleared waivers, so he goes straight to the AHL.
Archibald was one of 5 or 6 centers in Utica, so it creates less of a logjam
all 4 players dealt today are free agents next season, so have no cap implications for the following year.
Benning essentially makes room for Demko, acquires a 6th, and fixes the center ice logjam problem in our affiliate.

lol

Nilsson was bad here, for such a big dude, he somehow manages to make himself look smaller in net. He's capable of stringing together a few decent games in a row like any backups in the NHL but that's about it.

Markstrom has outplayed him the last 2 years and Demko is one of the top goalie prospects in the NHL and at 23 years old, he needs NHL time this year, so Nilsson had to go, either by trade or waivers.

And Pyatt will likely be in the AHL, just like Archibald was. Both players cleared waivers recently so it's clear the league views them as AHL'ers too. Obviously Ottawa got the "better" players but Vancouver got a 6th round pick for 2 players who wouldn't be on the NHL roster after the TDL.

Hopefully Nilsson plays well enough to earn another contract in the NHL after this year and Archie finds a home on Ottawa's 4th line, he's physical and has decent skill/hockey sense for a 4th liner, it's his speed that's kept him out of the NHL.

A lot of Canuck fans would've been happy trading them both for a 7th round pick at this point.
